In life, there ought to be activities you engage in purely for enjoyment and happiness. Whether it’s dancing, painting, writing, or singing, these pursuits should be done without any expectation of reward.
In the past it was inevitable that the artist has to live in rebellion, because creativity is the greatest rebellion in existence. If you want to create, you have to get rid of all the conditioning, otherwise your creativity will be nothing but a copy, it will be just a carbon copy.
You can be creative only if you are an individual, you cannot create as part of the mob psychology. The mob psychology is uncreative: it lives a life of drag – it knows no dance, no song, no joy. It is mechanical.
